Drift aslında bir sürüş tekniğidir ve otomobil sporları arasında motorsporları içersinde anılır. Drift gerçek anlamda bir motorsporudur. Drift sporunda viraja, arkadan kayma açısının öne göre daha fazla olması ve sürücünün virajın açısına göre aracını ayarlaması sonucu oluşan, viraj içersinde ilerleyerek, gerektiğinde direksiyona ters kontralar vererek (örn. viraj sola ilerliyor ise direksiyonu sağa çevirerek) araç sürme tekniğidir.

Drift Teknikleri

Drift`te kullanılan bu teknikler, otomobilin yürüyen aksamına, otomobilin teknik altyapısına göre değişiklikler gösterir. Bunlar: Acemi Teknikleri, Ağırlık Tranferi Teknikleri ve Diğer Teknikler...

Acemi Teknikleri

Bu teknik ağırlık transferi tekniği değildir. Hala en iyiler tarafından kullanılsa da acemiler tarafından kullanılır. Bu yöntem, viraj içersinde motordan gelen gücü, arka tekerleri kilitlemesine zorlayarak ilerleme tekniğidir. Debriyajın, diferansiyeli yakalayamaması ile (sınırlı kaydırmalı diferansiyelin (LSD) otomobilde bulunması şartı ile) tekerlerin yarı şekilde kilitlenmesi ve bu şekilde yola devam edilmesi tekniğini kapsar.

El Freni Tekniği

Debriyaja basıldıktan sonra el freni, arka tarafın çekişini kontrol edebilmek amacıyla çekilir. Hemen sonra sürücü debriyajı bırakır ve hızlanmanın önüne geçilecek şekilde debriyajla oynayarak kontrol sağlamaya çalışır. Bu teknik yarışlarda geniş köşelerde drift yapmak veya yarış ortasında aracın çizgisini ayarlamak için kullanılır.

Ağırlık Tranferi Teknikleri

Bu teknik ağırlık dağılımını bozarak ilerleme yöntemidir. Araç öne doğru ağırlığını artırdığı zaman, arka tekerlerin, öne göre daha az tutunma sağlaması yüzünden, ağırlığın ilerlediği yönün tersine direksiyon kontraları vererek ilerleme tekniğini kapsar.
